Jason Bean

Senator Jason Bean is a proven leader. In 2020, he carried the values learned on his family farm to the Missouri Senate, working to protect the rights and interests of all Missourians from government overreach and special interests. Recognized by his fellow senators from around the state for his work ethic, conservative values, and integrity, he serves in Senate leadership, representing Southeast Missouri and the Bootheel.

About Jason

As a fifth-generation Missourian raised on his family farm in the Bootheel, Jason learned the values of hard work, common sense, helping your neighbor, and trusting in God. Every planting season presented a new opportunity to do things better and to reach farther. These core values still define Jason today.

Jason loves the outdoors and is an avid fisherman, hunter, and lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He grew up attending Peach Orchard Baptist Church (built by his grandfather), and now
attends Holcomb United Methodist Church. Jason currently lives on the same farm where he grew up,
and is raising three beautiful children: Colin, Claire, and Otto.

Jason as a Businessman

After graduating from the University of Missouri – Columbia, Jason returned to the family farm, and expanded the business in both size and scope. Today, Bean Farms is an ag business leader, raising crops and providing a range of ag services. He also worked with the USA Rice Producers Board and the National Cotton Council to increase exports of cotton and rice, further promoting agricultural products in the global economy. Jason also served as interim superintendent of the University of Missouri’s top agricultural research facility, and was elected chair of the Advisory Board of MU’s Fisher Delta Research, Extension, and Education Center, which consists of seven research labs, eight greenhouses, and five different research farms conducting world class research.

Jason received the 2015 Missouri Governor’s Award for Agricultural Achievement and the 2019 Southern Cotton Ginners Agricultural Achievement Award. He is a Missouri Farm Bureau member and was appointed by the Governor to serve as a Missouri Agriculture and Small Business Development Authority Commissioner in 2016.
